Kate Matus

Director of Alumni Engagement


Kate Matus is Director of Alumni Engagement for the Public Interest Fellowship, where she plans and executes special events for alumni of the fellowship and creates opportunities for current fellows and alumni to connect.  She writes and distributes a monthly newsletter for participants in our programs and works to strengthen ties with our growing network of fellows and alumni.  Kate’s previous professional experience includes more than seven years on Capitol Hill, as Press Secretary for U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan.  She also worked as an editorial associate at National Review and taught English and political science in the Slovak Republic.  She graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and lives in Virginia with her husband and two children.
